Biography

Rabbi Doron Perez serves as the President of the Daniel Midrasha for Israeli Unity at the Peres Academic Center.

As the Executive Chairman of the World Mizrachi Movement, Rabbi Perez spent a decade studying at several of Israel’s leading Yeshivot and received Rabbinic ordination. He served in the IDF as part of the Hesder program and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Jewish Education and a Master’s degree in Jewish History.

Rabbi Perez served the South African Jewish community for 15 years in numerous leadership roles, including community leader, Rabbi, and educator. He served as the Rabbi of the Mizrachi Movement of South Africa, Senior Rabbi of the vibrant Beit Midrash in Johannesburg, and Head of School for the Yeshiva College Schools—the first and largest Torah school in South Africa.

Upon returning to Israel with his family, Rabbi Perez began his tenure as Executive Chairman of World Mizrachi. He has been the driving force behind the global renewal of the Mizrachi movement, focusing on organizational and content-driven transformation since taking office. Rabbi Perez is the author of the book “Leading the Way,” a collection of writings on some of the most essential matters of Jewish life.

Rabbi Perez is married to Shelly, a talented physiotherapist. They live in Yad Binyamin with their four children.
