The Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) in Communications at the Peres Academic Center focuses on the new communications environment and the new media, dedicating attention to the Internet, social networks, the Metaverse, augmented and virtual reality, etc. 

In addition, the Communication Department’s unique program combines courses concerning the tools of creative thinking and ways to promote innovation in the field of communications.

The program is designed for candidates who see their future in communications and related fields – media professionals, entrepreneurs, promoters of innovation in communications, creators, development and marketing of diverse innovative communications products. The program also caters to candidates with research tendencies who aspire to have an academic career in the field. Courses in Business Administration can be incorporated into the dual-disciplinary program in Communications.

The Program’s Curriculum

As part of the three-year program, students will acquire comprehensive knowledge and practical tools in the field of communications. From basic courses in the first year, through advanced studies in the second year, to unique internships in the third year, the program covers a variety of topics such as marketing, social media, communications management and entrepreneurship. A combination of theory and practice, alongside lateral courses such as statistics and research methods, prepares graduates for success in the burgeoning job market in the field of communications.

The courses taught in this certificate will grant the student the tools to become specialists in the field: content development and promotion – one of the five most thought after talents in the upcoming years are content creators on social networks. In the workshop you will learn how to produce content for the various platforms, and how your own language is developed and differentiated in a world where everyone wants to be influential. Podcast workshop – the fastest growing communication medium in the world, is also the most intriguing. Come to learn how to produce a Podcast that all will wish to hear.

Since the "Trible Fire" around which all were seated listening to stories, and until the latest advertisement by "Nike" – all of us are really spellbound to good stories.

Come to study how to correctly tell your story, in a manner that will promote your professional way. This certificate will provide you with the tools that will assist you to turn the public opinion in the direction of this or other thought, make presentations for investors, build a brand story, and more. The courses offered in this certificate include; convincing communication, storytelling workshop, and communicative skills development workshop.

Admission requirements for Bachelor of Communications

Candidates who meet the following conditions will be accepted to the program:

  • Matriculation (Israeli Bagrut) grades average of 90 and above – automatic acceptance in the status of Registered Student.
  • Matriculation (Israeli Bagrut) grades average of between 83 and 89 – probationary admission, graduating to the second year is contingent upon a grades average of at least 75 in the first semester.
  • Candidates without a Matriculation (Israeli Bagrut) certificate, over the age of 30 – admission after successfully completing a preparatory program for 30 + students.

When applying, the candidate must submit the following documents:

  • Israeli Bagrut certificate or alternatively, a matriculation (Israeli Bagrut) equivalency certificate from the Department of Evaluation of Foreign Degrees and Diplomas at the Ministry of Education
  • Psychometric test stub
  • Complete application forms
  • Photocopy of ID including stub
  • Two passport photos
  • Undergraduate tuition fee

During your studies towards a BA in Communications, you can combine a variety of special tracks:

Degree Plus – advanced certificate studies that can be combined with the bachelor’s degree at no additional cost. Among the various course options, you can find podcasting, storytelling, communications management strategies and more. 

LEVEL UP – this program gives students the opportunity for a hands-on expereince in leading organizations in the industry during their studies, providing them with a close look at the work environment they are about to enter, enabling them to make connections with industry leaders and to experience practical on-the-job experience.

Career Development Unit – the unit offers students enrichment workshops, CV writing, help finding a job, preparation for job interviews, and more. 

Applicants who meet the following criteria will be able to be admitted to the undergraduate degree without a psychometric test grade:

Applicants aged 30 and above without a Matriculation (Israeli Bagrut) certificate can be accepted after successfully completing a preparatory program for 30+ students, applicants over 30 with a Matriculation (Israeli Bagrut) certificate are automatically accepted, applicants under the age of 30 will be accepted with a Matriculation (Israeli Bagrut) grades average of 90 and above, those with a Matriculation (Israeli Bagrut) grades average of between 83 and 89 will be accepted on probation, contingent upon completion of the first year with a grades average above 75.

Studies in the morning track take 3 years. 

In the first year – we deliver the main core courses in communications, familiarizing student with the field of communications, as well as courses on creativity and innovation in communications. In addition, in the first year, students will take mandatory lateral courses (academic literacy and statistics).

In the second year – we teach more advanced core courses in communications, concerning media development and persuasive communication, alongside up-to-date communications courses concerning the media and advanced lateral mandatory courses (research methods in communications and an English course).

In the third year – we teach advanced courses in communications (for example – a research seminar in communications, strategies in communications management; social media and social dilemmas; a workshop for developing communication skills as well as dedicated and unique elective courses and elective workshops in communications.

*Alongside the courses in communications, the students will take business administration courses

The degree provides students with knowledge in marketing and communications which is applicable to any field. Being self-employed, you will acquire tools that will help you promote both your business and yourselves, your studies will endow you with broad vision skilss, and will help you access your customers’ subconscious, draw their interest to the product and purchase the product/service you are marketing.
