Prof. Eyal Katvan

Prof. Eyal Katvan, Lawyer, Bioethicist and Historian of Medicine and Law. Senior Lecturer at Peres Academic Center, Faculty of Law and Department of Health Systems Management.
He has written two doctoral dissertations, one in bioethics and the other in the history of medicine. Specializes in the study of medical and legal professions. His research focuses on tests (medical, physical and mental) as a social phenomenon; Women in medical and legal professions; Regulation of medical and legal professions; The historical, ethical and legal aspects of organ transplantation; And in the concept of Honor, including professions. Dozens of Dr. Katvan’s studies are published in leading journals in the fields of law, medicine and history. He served as a visiting researcher at leading research institutes and universities. He has won several prestigious research grants, scholarships and awards for his research work. Headed the Public Committee for the Age Examination as a Criterion for Organ Transplantation. Member of the Steering Committee of the National Transplant Center; Member of the High Helsinki Committee (Genetics). Headed the Forum for Organ Donor Procedure.
Served as public representative on an institutional ethics committee under the Patient Rights Act; in an institutional animal transplant committee, under the law; In an institutional committee under the Dying Patient’s law; And the Human Experimentation Regulatory Committee (Institutional Helsinki Commission). Member of the Bar Association since 1998.
