Biography
Dr. Dana Schwartz Ilan holds a Ph.D. in the field of health insurance in Israel from the Department of Health Systems Management at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. She subsequently published a book based on her doctoral dissertation, “Between Welfare and Privatization – The Development of Health Insurance in Israel.” Dr. Schwartz Ilan brings to the program an academic background in insurance and risk in general, and in health insurance in Israel in particular. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Systems Management and a master’s degree with a thesis in Business Administration from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
Dr. Schwartz Ilan has been teaching as an adjunct lecturer for 20 years in the Department of Health Systems Management for both undergraduate and graduate degrees at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. She teaches a course on the fundamentals of insurance and health insurance in the modern era. Additionally, she guides and mentors students in their seminar work during the third year of their undergraduate studies.
For the past 12 years, Dr. Schwartz Ilan has been managing the Unit for Promotion of Medical Information and Research in the Community at the Medical Division of the Community Division of Clalit Health Services. Previously, she managed a national research program in the field of diabetes and led projects in diagnosis and prevention among family physicians in the community.
Dr. Schwartz Ilan is a certified mediator on behalf of Clalit Health Services.
