Technique and Understanding of Treatment (Supervision)+Scientific Thinking in Clinical Psychology

Biography

Dr. Avi Kinan is a licensed clinical psychologist who treats children, adolescents, and adults, and holds a PhD in Philosophy from the Hebrew University. Avi’s doctoral work focused on emotions as a source of knowledge from a philosophical perspective, recognizing the importance of emotions in our lives and in the therapist’s work. The combination of philosophical and theoretical thinking with clinical work is a central foundation in his approach. This integration guides how he teaches, learns, and thinks about therapy and the therapeutic encounter, and about the ethical ground required for treating others. Avi is invested in psychoanalytic theory both in the context of therapeutic technique and in relation to meta-psychological issues, and he treats, supervises, and teaches according to this approach in a private clinic in Jerusalem.
