Biography
Dr. Yacobi is a researcher in the following fields: development and implementation of mathematical models, complexity – social networks, data science, Computer-Aided Geometric Design (CAGD), and approximation theory. His academic experience enables him to conduct interdisciplinary research by combining tools from various fields, such as numerical computation and approximation theory, artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, and multidimensional data visualization techniques. He applies these tools to other fields requiring innovative mathematical models and advanced solutions, for example, in finance, medicine, and social networks. As part of his academic work, Dr. Yacobi has published in established journals and is involved in research collaborations, joint research projects, conference presentations, conference organization, and reviewing papers for international academic journals. He has written three academic programs for B.Sc. degrees in Computer Science and Software Engineering that were approved by the Council for Higher Education and successfully implemented, including the Computer Science program at Ono Academic College and its successful establishment.
Dr. Yacobi’s professional experience includes 32 years (1982-2014) in engineering and management roles in Israel’s software and information systems sector. During these years, he managed large international projects for various companies (such as Bay Networks, Nortel, and Amdocs) and startups. Alongside his high-tech industry career, Dr. Yacobi held management positions as head of Computer Science and Software Engineering departments at various academic institutions for seven years. His work in both academia and the high-tech industry has provided Dr. Yacobi with an integrative and broad perspective, which significantly enriches his research, teaching, academic program development, and consulting activities in the high-tech industry.
